Remote Tool Placeholders

The Remote Tool Placeholders section within the Assets Management settings allows you to define and manage placeholders for remote access tools. It optimizes remote connections by automatically inserting asset-specific details like IP addresses and hostnames.

How to Add Remote Tool Placeholders?
To add remote tool placeholders, follow the steps below.
Navigate to Settings > Assets Management > Remote Tool Placeholders.
The Remote Tool Placeholders page is displayed.
Click the New Remote Tool Placeholder icon. The New Remote Tool Placeholder page is displayed.
Note: All the fields marked with an asterisk (*) are mandatory.
Enter a custom variable used in remote tool commands to represent asset-specific data in the Placeholder field and the actual value that replaces the placeholder during execution in the Substitution field. Then, click Save.
The remote tool placeholder is added.
Note: The Edit and Delete icons appear when you hover over a placeholder row. Click the corresponding icon to update or delete in the desired row, and confirm your action.
