Outgoing Email Settings

Overview

The Outgoing Email Settings section under E-mail Settings allows you to configure the mail server, authentication details, and sender information for system-generated communications.

How to Configure Outgoing E-mail Settings?

To configure outgoing email settings, follow the steps below.

Navigate to Settings > E-mail Settings > Outgoing E-mail Settings.

The Outgoing E-mail Settings page is displayed.

Enter or select the required values in the fields. Please refer to the following table for field names and their descriptions.

Note: All the fields marked with an asterisk (*) are mandatory.

Field Description
Type Type of protocol: SMTP or Exchange
From Address Email address that appears as the sender in outgoing emails
From display name Name displayed as the sender along with the sender email address
Server Address Domain name or IP address of the email server used for sending emails
Port Communication port used by the mail server
Authentication type Method of verifying the sender's identity
Username Username associated with the email account for authentication. Note that by default, this is the user's email account.
Password Password for the specified email account to authenticate the sender
Use TLS/SSL Whether to use Transport Layer Security (TLS) or Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) for encrypting the connection to the email server

Click Save. The new outgoing email setting is configured successfully.

Note:

  • The Delete icon appears only when the outgoing email setting is saved.
  • To delete the outgoing email settings, click the Delete icon and confirm your action. You can test the outgoing email settings for host connectivity and send test emails using the Testing tools feature shown in the image below.
